We deserve a treat! After most of us suffered through smoke filled apocalyptic skies, were held hostage in our homes because of the air quality and were forced to invent indoor activities (which included closet cleaning for me), I decided this week's perk would be filled with treats.

First, photos of my amazing day at Island Beach State Park in New Jersey. I did not fully appreciate this escape until I returned to a neighborhood full of smoke.

Second, a short video of my performance with my dance teacher, Dmitry, celebrating the two-year anniversary of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Lafayette, NJ.

And third, my milk chocolate chip cookie recipe. The secret is in the milk chocolate chips.

A Calm Sea Island Beach State Park was calm, clear, and uninhabited at 8:30 am Wednesday morning.

Beach Buddy I am certain he was interested in the contents of my contents of my cooler.

My Performance with Dmitry at the two-year anniversary of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Lafayette

Cookie Recipe

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup softened butter

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups milk chocolate chips

optional: for male cookies, nuts (chopped)

Cream butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Then add to creamed mixture. Stir in chips (and nuts, optional) 375 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
