Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun

I would like to think what sets my fiction apart is the amount of truth in the pages of my novels. The photo below is of me, age 16, with Snowball, a character used in the prolog to 'Deceptive Images'. I vacationed that summer with my friend Roseann and her parents. I like to look back on that vacation. No, I did not meet the love of my life, but there was an innocent excitement in traveling without my family, riding horses for the first (and only) time, and meeting boys who were interested in asking me to dance. The setting had a "Dirty Dancing' vibe long before the movie was made.

This newsletter is a throwback to those times, when writing letters was a major form of communication. Do men still send love letters, or is that a thing of the past? For me, the anticipation of receiving a letter from a friend, or boyfriend, who moved or was away at college was thrilling. I write letters at Christmas. Though my Christmas card list has dwindled, I continue the tradition with friends who also enjoy letters.

So here is a thought. If there is someone you are missing this holiday, or someone you would like to wish a Merry Christmas, pick up your pen and paper (or Email if you prefer), and let them know. It's more personal than a text, and less demanding than a phone call. They can then contact you when convenient, and you might be surprised they were thinking about you too.

Joanne's Sunday Perks Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun Last week I wrote about my wonderful experience 'Publishing at Sea'. The journey home was a long one. When the ship docked on Sunday, I received a text that my flight to Newark NJ was canceled because of a snowstorm. They were not sure when the airport would open, and the airport in Philadelphia was also closed. I had already purchased a bus ticket to the airport, and I had nowhere else to go, so I traveled to the Miami airport....

Joanne's Sunday Perks Dental tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun After publishing three novels filled with fun and adventure, I decided it was time to have an adventure of my own. 'Publishing At Sea' was a great opportunity to learn from successful authors, publishers, and editors, and a chance to enjoy the cruise ship experience. The Symphony of the Seas was a fantastic ship, with pools, a water park, a central park in the middle of the ship that opened to a warm Caribbean sky, plays, games,...

Joanne's Valentine's Day Perks Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun 'Love is patient and kind; love is never jealous, or conceited, or proud, or provoked; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil but is pleased with the truth. Love never gives up; it's faith, hope, and patience never fail.' Since the beginning of time, musicians, poets, and novelists have described love, but the pure, unadulterated description can be found in the Bible. Love comes in many forms,...
