Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2026!

When I think about Christmas one word describes the holiday for me - tradition. The season is special because of it; going to church, visiting with friends and relatives, and in our household, we bake cookies. My daughter and I have fun using this recipe, compliments of my cousin. We call it the 'Christmas Tree Cookie Recipe' because the tree is the shape we most often use in the cookie press. We also make stars, and flowers with a chocolate chip in the middle. You could use a cookie cutter, but we follow these directions which are specific to the cookie press.

Christmas Tree Cookies

1 cup unsalted butter

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients, mix gradually. Fill the cookie press and form on an ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugars. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. If you want to add a chocolate chip, press in after baking, before cooling.
