Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun

An interesting question was posed to me this week. "Why do you write?" A simple answer is difficult to give. Writing is a fun escape where I can create and imagine. I can share knowledge that may help or entertain my readers. Writing a novel is a project I dreamed of completing. But the initial inspiration came from a historical romance novel I absolutely loved. The book is 'Deception' by Amanda Quick, and I read it for a second time last week.

This historical romance took place in England, in an era when wealthy aristocrats were preoccupied with their business and social affairs, and marriages were usually arranged. But some individuals chose their own path and disregarded the confines of polite society. Olympia Wingfield was considered over the hill at twenty-five, without hope of finding a husband. She was preoccupied with her research on ancient legends and long-lost treasures, and clueless about attracting men. Jared Chillhurst was a reserved, orderly man of business who descended from a family of buccaneers. An odd encounter, a family legend, and a cryptic diary led them into a romance that proved to be the greatest adventure of all. The book has supporting characters and humorous situations that make it most endearing. And in this work, I discovered the secret to writing romance novels. The reader should fall in love with the relationship as well as the main characters.

The book's copyright is in 1993. I found my copy at 'World of Books' a wonderful site for second-hand treasures. If you'd like to track down a copy or explore other romantic classics, I have provided a link to this site. I also added the link to a review of my second book, 'Deceptive Images' about a young female dentist and her dance teacher.

Joanne's Sunday Perks Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun Last week I wrote about my wonderful experience 'Publishing at Sea'. The journey home was a long one. When the ship docked on Sunday, I received a text that my flight to Newark NJ was canceled because of a snowstorm. They were not sure when the airport would open, and the airport in Philadelphia was also closed. I had already purchased a bus ticket to the airport, and I had nowhere else to go, so I traveled to the Miami airport....

Joanne's Sunday Perks Dental tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun After publishing three novels filled with fun and adventure, I decided it was time to have an adventure of my own. 'Publishing At Sea' was a great opportunity to learn from successful authors, publishers, and editors, and a chance to enjoy the cruise ship experience. The Symphony of the Seas was a fantastic ship, with pools, a water park, a central park in the middle of the ship that opened to a warm Caribbean sky, plays, games,...

Joanne's Valentine's Day Perks Dental Tales of Love, Adventure, and Fun 'Love is patient and kind; love is never jealous, or conceited, or proud, or provoked; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil but is pleased with the truth. Love never gives up; it's faith, hope, and patience never fail.' Since the beginning of time, musicians, poets, and novelists have described love, but the pure, unadulterated description can be found in the Bible. Love comes in many forms,...
